How do we start each day at a holistic yoga and surf retreat? In Mexico, that’s easy! Each morning, a stunning sunrise welcomes you to this pristine paradise, giving way to the tropical sun. The beach front comes alive with the warm breeze and the echoes of ocean waves resonating through the wonderful La Playita Beach House.
Our yoga and surf retreats in Mexico are designed with you and your wellness in mind, right from the beginning to the very end. Whether you are coming to try yoga for the first time, seek to learn how yoga may compliment your surfing, or perhaps you are a yoga enthusiast and want to deepen your personal practice in a small group setting – we welcome all people from all walks of life and are confident in delivering to all competencies.
We are absolutely committed to making yoga accessible, fun and safe for everyone. We inspire, care, and create an atmosphere of discovery and possibility for all participants.
All you’ll need is an open mind and an inquisitive nature and you will love your time with us in Puerto Escondido!
With up to 10 yoga, meditation and pranayama sessions included in your stay with us, we hope to give you every possible chance to really feel the benefits of a regular yoga practice, or remind you of exactly why you do if you already have one! You will have the chance to go deep and really focus on your yoga practice intensively with our experienced facilitator as your guide. We will ensure your body, mind and soul are receiving attention, love and guidance throughout your retreat experience.
And, if that’s not enough, you can bulk-up your activities by adding 1:1 private sessions with our practitioners and really feel the benefit of bespoke attention.

Daily Yoga Classes
Our daily yoga classes are designed for YOUR needs. We focus on breathing well, mindful movement, ideal functional movement patterns and alignment. A perfect way to prepare your muscles for a surf or to draw your day to a close. The class will flow though asanas (postures) that will help lengthen the body and calm the mind. To ease any tension from activities of the day before and to build strength, alignment and movement techniques for surfing.
Evening Restorative (Yin) Yoga
In Yin we mindfully move from posture to posture very slowly with long holds. This class is focused on winding down and releasing any tension being held in body or mind. You will find a way to develop your breath and body awareness and increase your stability and flexibility.
One-to-One Session
Private classes are a great way to take your practice to the next level or focus on a particular aspect of your yoga practice. Whether it’s your first yoga experience, or if you’re a seasoned practitioner who wants to develop the finer details of each asana, one on one classes gives the time to deepen your practice or to simply organise those wavering limbs. Discuss what you want to achieve with your yoga teacher before the class.
Pranayama
While asanas (postures) sort out our bodies, pranayama (breathing exercises) sort out our minds. During the Pranayama classes you will be guided through specific breathing exercises to channel your “Prana” (or life force) and by bringing awareness to the breath can increase your lung capacity. Through these exercises the mind is rejuvenated, stilled and uplifted.
Meditation
We introduce you to a daily meditation practice to help calm and still the mind from your day to day incessant stresses and pressures. Our meditation class will guide you through accessible techniques to help calm and organise your thoughts and help explore a mindful approach to your day. We take a friendly inquisitive approach to meditation inviting practitioners to sit with themselves and whatever thoughts, emotions and feelings may be arising at any given time. We will reflect on what limitations and barriers we may be putting up for ourselves and delve head first into some of our deepest fears. We will at times sit in silence, be guided in deep relaxation or use visualisation techniques to delve deeper. We know you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
